Single board computer supports sixth generation Intel processor

Supporting Intel’s sixth generation Skylake 14nm Core i7, i5, and 3, Pentium and Celeron processors, the Kino-AQ170 single board computer (SBC) has been announced by BVM.

The latest addition to the company’s family of Mini-ITX motherboards offer enhanced performance at the lowest power levels ever, says the company, delivering up to two and a half times better computing performance than previous generations. The graphics performance makes the Kino-AQ170 suitable as the engine for graphics-rich and computing-intensive environments such as gaming, surveillance, medical, defence, signage, transportation and industrial automation. Running under the Q170 chipset, up to 64Gbyte of 2133MHz DDR4 SRAM can be accommodated. Intel HD Graphics Gen 9 supports extensive interfaces and decode/encode functionality.

Three independent displays, HDMI 2.0 up to 4096 x 2160, VGA up to 1920 x 1200 and a further Display Port interface for LVDS and DVI up to 2560 x 1600 are provided. HD audio comes from the Realtek ALC662 5.1 Codec, supporting 16, 20, or 24bit S/PDIF function and a sampling rate of up to 96kHz, offering output over coax or fibre to external digital decoders.

Four SATA 6Gbit/s ports support RAID 0/1/5/10 mass storage, there are two LAN ports, six USB ports, a full size PCIe Mini slot supporting mSATA and a PCIe x8 expansion slot.
