Single-mode module accelerates Bluetooth low energy applications

Available from Rutronik, the Bluetooth v4.2 qualified single-mode, BlueMod+S42 module from Telit, is based on the nRF52 Nordic Semiconductor chip. It makes Bluetooth low energy applications fast and secure, says the company.

The BlueMod+S42 can be used for IoT applications from simple cable replacement applications to complex mesh solutions. The module allows the latest Bluetooth technology to be easily and quickly integrated into a customer’s system. It supports central as well as peripheral applications. As central, a GATT server with up to three connections is available. A peripheral terminal I/O connection can connect to a smartphone or tablet.

The module is small, measuring 17 x 10 x 2.6mm and controlled by a simple AT command interface. It is CE, FCC, IC and KCC-certified. Apps and demo source code are available for Android and iOS. An evaluation kit is also available.
