Smiths Interconnect introduces WR112 waveguides to X-band range
Passive components in X-band rating for space and defence applications from Smiths Interconnect now include WR112 waveguide components.
The electronic components, subsystems, microwave, optical and RF product manufacturer unveiled the range of broadband WR112 waveguide components which are designed for mission critical applications including satellite communications, commercial datalinks and deep space mission management.
Each device is optimised to operate over broad-assigned frequency bands under the most rigorous conditions. The designs have been tested in accordance with customer specifications and space qualified using a comprehensive suite of test facilities available in the company’s test and qualification laboratory in Dundee, Scotland. Qualification comprises thermal shock and cycling, sine/random vibration, mechanical shock and, where appropriate, continuous waveform and peak power under TVAC, critical power and seeded multipaction. (Summary and qualification data reports are available.)
The X-band WR112 waveguide components are supplied in aluminium housings with a standard clear passivation coating. The company offers low emissivity paint or precious metal plating, available on request. The company also offers mechanical modifications upon request, for example, circulation or flange modifications.
Smiths Interconnect provides technically differentiated electronic components, subsystems, microwave, optical and radio frequency products that connect, protect and control critical applications in the commercial aviation, defence, space, medical, rail, semiconductor test, wireless telecommunications and industrial market segments.
Smiths Interconnect is part of Smiths Group, which has been active for over 170 years, in engineering for major global markets, i.e. energy, general industry, security and defence and aerospace.
