Surface mount, miniature tactile switches are designed to save PCB space
W+P expands its product range of miniature tactile switches for surface mount technology. The tactile switches have a low profile, designed to make room on the PCB. They have small dimensions and are suitable for compact input units such as industrial controllers, says W+P.
The smallest of the new tactile switches has a housing footprint of only 3.0 x 2.0mm. The largest of the miniature switches still take up minimal space on the PCB, insists W+P, measuring just 5.2 x 5.2mm. The dimensions are claimed to ensure small actuating area whose diameters are between 0.7 and 3.5mm. The component heights range between 0.55 and 2.0mm.
There are seven options in the fail-safe series 5061. These differ in footprint, height and size of the actuating field. Option ’01’ also offers an IP67 waterproof level of protection.
During actuation, the tactile switches are distinguished by a noticeable response, according to W+P. A service lift of up to 100 000 cycles is guaranteed at operating temperatures of -40 to +85 degree C. The contact material consists of a copper alloy.
Target applications are input and control functions in measurement and control technology, industrial electronics, consumer electronics and in telecommunications systems.
Data sheets with all options can be found on the W+P homepage; corresponding samples will be sent free of charge.
W+P Products has been producing and distributing a varied product range of connectors for all PCB-related applications since 1994.
Its product portfolio ranges from high-quality precision connectors to reliable mass components. W+P offers an appropriate component in production-ready types of packaging for any requirement and as a full-service provider, the company covers the entire range of possible pitches and assembly options.
