Tact switch has 0.9mm travel for automotive use says Alps

A model with 0.9mm travel has been added to the SKSU series of compact, middle-stroke Tact Switches. The SKSUBCE010 has quiet operation and a distinct click, suitable for automotive use, says Alps.

The 0.9mm travel places it at the longer end of the middle stroke range. It retains the quiet sound and distinct click feel made possible by combining rubber and metal for an original contact structure, yet delivers a clearer push sensation, says Alps.

The SKSUBCE010 also incorporates a pre-stroke design, familiar in the existing automotive Tact Switch products. This helps to prevent rattling when integrated into the end product. The SKSU series is compatible with the existing SKTQ series, explains Alps; customers using an existing product can choose the best operating feel for their vehicle brand without having to modify the board design.

The SKSUBCE010 can be used in steering wheel switches, centre consoles and a vehicle’s audio and navigation systems.
