Toshiba’s TCB010FNG PMIC handles audio in automotive systems

Designed to handle the power requirements for car audio, the TCB010FNG power management integrated circuit (PMIC) has been launched by Toshiba Electronics Europe.

The system regulator IC is designed to handle the increasing sophistication of car audio systems. The TCB010FNG incorporates the required power supply and all essential detection functions. It has a multi-rail microcontroller power supply that retains power during minor interruptions in the battery supply. The device also includes multiple variable power supplies for flexibility, as well as a fixed power supply.

There is a two-channel, high side switch and a number of detection functions, including ACC voltage detection, accessory power voltage detection and microcontroller output voltage detection, all with variable thresholds, integrated into the PMIC.

The TCB010FNG IC is configured with series regulators, so users can design a system without electromagnetic interference (EMI) concerns, points out Toshiba.

The TCB010FNG is housed in a P-HSSOP36-1116-0.65 package. Sample shipments are available now, with mass production scheduled for June 2017.
