TTI adds Amphenol NTC type CR-1 chip thermistors
Supplied with a special coating which protects against moisture, high temperatures and chemicals; suits aerospace, marine, military and industrial applications, Amphenol’s NTC type CR-1 chip thermistors are now available in Europe at TTI.
The thermistors incorporate the high performance NK chip thermistors on tin-coated alloy 52 leads with a high performance acid and moisture resistant coating. The coating offers a combination of properties that can be used in applications where moisture, high temperatures or chemicals can damage other thermistor coatings, says the company.
The Thermometrics CR1 coating was originally developed for the automotive industry for harsh environment applications such as exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems, air intake manifold (AIM) sensors and temperature and manifold absolute pressure (TMAP) sensors. The coating’s combination of properties can be used in many applications where moisture, high temperatures or chemicals can damage other thermistor coatings and can cause corrosion at the coating-wire interface.
The thermistors operate from -40 to +190 degree C with excellent stability and high thermal shock resistance. They have a small body diameter and weigh 0.18g. Insulation resistance is to 1kV DC and are designed for accurate temperature measurement, control and compensation. RoHS-compliant and AEC Q200 Rev D -qualified, the thermistors are available on bandolier to IEC 286-2.
