TTI offers AVX’s supercapacitor technology throughout Europe
Available for high pulse power and capacitance densities, BestCap, SCC series cylindrical and SCM series modules from AVX are now available from TTI.
The AVX Supercapacitors, or Double Layer Capacitors, provide a combination of characteristics that are recognised as a compromise between electronic and dielectric capacitors. Available in Europe through specialist distributor of electronic components, TTI, the technologies developed by AVX in its BestCap, SCC series cylindrical and SCM series module capacitors enable very high pulse power and capacitance density, providing reliability in multiple applications, says the company.
The BestCap series offers capacitance of 4.7 to 1000mF and 3.6 to 20V. They are designed for high reliability and long life, and have a low profile of 2.0 to 6.0mm in height. They feature minimum capacitance loss for short duration pulses, low ESR and low leakage, claims TTI. Mounting options include surface mount, though hole and wires for applications as diverse as RFID, GSM / GPRS / Wi-Fi modules, gas and water meters, IoT applications, portable devices and security devices.
The SCC series cylindrical supercapacitors are available with capacitance values ranging from 1.0 to 3,000F, with a voltage of 2.7V. The devices feature high pulse power capability, low ESR and low leakage current. Suitable applications are energy harvesting systems, uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), remote metering, scanners, wireless alarms and camera flash systems.
The SCM series modules have capacitance values ranging from 1.0 to 750F and 5.0 and 5.4V. They also feature high pulse power capability, low ESR and low leakage current, says TTI. The SCM series modules are available with active or passive balancing options and can be used for wireless alarms, GSM/GPRS pulse applications, remote metering, scanners and camera flash systems.
