Tunable linear ReDrivers are optimised for graphics performance

Two 3.3V-rated ReDriver ICs have been added to Diodes’ portfolio. The multi-lane active demux devices address the demux needs that are being set by the more graphically intense functions of mobile workstations, gaming PCs, and display dongles. They are also optimised for the latest industrial computers and embedded systems hardware, says Diodes.

The four-lane PI3DPX8112 supports 13.5Gbits per second data rates and is applicable to DisplayPort 2.0 implementations. It is also applicable for earlier generations of the protocol. The second addition is the four-lane PI3HDX12212, which has 12Gbits per second performance capabilities, making it suitable for HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0, HDMI 1.2, and HDMI 1.4 transmission modes.

Both the PI3HDX12212 and PI3DPX8112 ReDrivers feature pin strap adjustable eight-level receive equaliser settings on each of their two output paths, plus four settings for the adjusting of output flat gain and output swing parameters. Engineers using these adjustments can tune the signal integrity in accordance with specific application requirements. Channel losses can then be compensated and inter-symbol interference (ISI) can be removed to help extend channel reach. The ReDriver ICs are able to accept lower supply voltages than those achievable by competing devices, said Diodes. They are protocol agnostic, transparent to channel link training, and deliver low latency operation.

The PI3DPX8112 and PI3HDX12212 are both supplied in 32-pin TQFN packages (with 3.0 x 6.0mm dimensions) making them suitable for space-constrained environments. Both devices support a working temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C.
