Two DC/DC converter series is compact
Two series from XP Power, the JWL and JSK series of regulated 40/50W DC/DC converters are typically up to 92% efficient. The metal cased converters offer a variety of input voltage range and single or dual output combinations. Both series fit the industry standard 50.8 x 25.4mm footprint and pin outs. These dimensions make them suitable for use in mobile and portable board mounted applications that require a high power density, up to 50W output and 1,500V DC input to output isolation.
The 40W (JWL40) and the 50W (JWL50) both have 4:1 input ranges offering 9.0 to 36V DC or 18 to 75V DC that cater for all popular nominal input voltages. The JWL40 features single or dual output models. Singles cover all popular output voltages in the range 3.3 to 24V DC, and duals ±12V or ±15V DC.
The JSK50 is a 50W single output device that has 2:1 input voltage ranges of 9.0 to 18V DC, 18 to 36V DC and 36 to 75V DC. It covers most standard requirements in the range from 3.3 to 24V DC. The JWL50 and the JSK50 are equipped with a voltage trim function that allows adjustment of the output ±10% of nominal output in order to accommodate line losses or non-standard voltages.
All models operate over the extended temperature range from -40 to +105 degree C. An optional clip-on heatsink can be specified when ordering, to enable full power at an extended temperature range. Input to output isolation of 1,500V DC is standard across the range. A remote on/off input pin allows control and sequencing of the converter from host applications.
