Vector network analyser is first multi-port version
Claimed to be the industry’s first true multi-port vector network analyser up to 20GHz, the ZNBT20 from Rohde & Schwarz operates in the microwave range with up to 16 integrated test ports. The hardware architecture, extended from the company’ ZNBT8, allows users to characterise multiple devices under test in parallel to increase throughput. It offers the high measurement performance of a two-port network analyser at each of its test ports.
Starting frequency is 100 kHz and the analyser can drive all ports in parallel without the need for internal switching. The high number of ports is relevant for the production of both active and passive multi-port components such as front-end modules for multi-band mobile phones or high-speed data cables. Signal integrity tests can be performed for high-speed transmission standards, especially when combined with the ZNBT-K20 option for extended time domain analysis, which allows eye diagrams, rise time and skew to be displayed on the analyser.
