Vincotech unveils two flow modules at PCIM Europe 2022

Technologies unveiled at PCIM Europe 2022 in Nuremberg, Germany by Vincotech include two flow module housings and VINcoPress substrate technology.

Among the highlights on the Vincotech stand (Hall 7 – 411) are its Current Synthesizing PFC (CSPFC) topology which is claimed to provide highest efficiency at lowest total system costs through reduced number of SiC devices and a reduction in the number and size of the PFC inductors. It is suitable for use in three-phase PFC applications, where a balanced load is a given. Typical examples of this application are motion control, EV-charging, renewable energy and UPS systems for data centres.

The company is also highlighting VINcoPress, a direct-pressed substrate technology engineered for thermal performance. According to Vincotech it distributes pressure and Rth uniformly, increases modules’ power capability and power density, and provides a rugged, reliable heat sink assembly.

There are two new housings added to Vincotech’s line up of baseplate-less, 12mm, low inductive power modules. The first, brings the benefits of industry-standard flow E housings to the higher power range. This flow E3 module enables engineers to boost legacy designs’ power with just minor mechanical adjustments, said Vincotech. The flow S3 (pictured) and the other new addition, the flow E3 module, now also feature VINcoPress in addition to Vincotech’s pre-applied phase-change thermal interface material (PC-TIM), advanced die-attach technology and an optional AlN DCB.

At the exhibition and conference in Nuremberg, Vincotech will make three presentations: Tiago Jappe will present ‘System Cost Reduction with Vincotech’s Three-Phase ANPFC Power Modules for Grid-Connected Converters such as Chargers, Heat Pumps and UPS Applications’; at the Exhibitor Forum, Gábor Manhertz will present ‘VINcoSIM – Web-based Simulation of Vincotech Power Modules in your Application’; and David Chilachava will present ‘Highly Efficient PFC Topology Using Constant Power Control Enabling Higher Power Density and Cost Savings in Passives’
