Expansion PCB case has cover options for ease of integration
Integrating PCBs or electronic components into a closed case can be problematic, says Fischer Elektronik, if it is equipped with connectors on the sides, displays or switches. Openings in the case wall or cover panel from the outside do not always provide full, or unhindered access.
For such applications, Fischer Elektronik offers an extended case, the GD series, which is characterised by an installation-friendly design and practical features.
The U-shaped case profiles have one open side and integrated guide slots for the insertion of electronic components or PCBs. There are also insertable cover panels, which can vary in the material thickness and therefore in stability.
Mechanical treatment of the cover panels allows various devices such as LCDs or connectors to be mounted easily and inserted in the U-profile.
The cover panel stabilises front and back cover panels and, due to the special geometry of the aluminum profile, eases the insertion of membrane key pads or front foils. Printing on the external surfaces is possible.
The GD case series is available in six sizes (100, 120, 160, 200, 220 and 234mm) as well as the surface finishes of black or natural as standard.
For samples and customised prototypes the case profiles are also available in a length of 1000mm.
In addition to the standard designs, the cases can be machined, surface-treated and printed on request.
