Keithley 6½ digital multimeter is available from Farnell element14

Available for exclusive pre-order, the 6½ digit Keithley DMM6500 is a digital multimeter with a five-inch touchscreen display, that is now available from Farnelle element14. It also has 1Msample per second digitising as standard, 7M reading internal memory and increased sensitivity, reports the distributor.

Farnell element14 is offering customers in Europe the opportunity to pre-order the Keithley DMM6500 for immediate shipment on 16 April 2018. The DMM6500 is a modern bench/system digital multimeter for design engineers and production test engineers. It delivers more measurement functionality, best-in-class measurement insight and a price that will not break the budget, assures Farnell.

The features of the DMM6500 mean there is no need to buy additional measurement capabilities, says Farnell. It has 15 measurement functions including capacitance, temperature (RTD, thermistor and thermocouple), diode test with variable current sources, and up to one Msample per second digitising. The digitising function can be used for voltage or current and is especially useful in capturing transient anomalies or to help profile power events such as the operating states of today’s battery operated devices. Current and voltage can be digitised with a programmable one Msample per second 16-bit digitiser, making it possible to acquire waveforms without the need for a separate instrument.

The DMM6500’s large five-inch capacitive touch display is designed to make it easy to observe, interact with and explore measurements with a “pinch and zoom” simplicity. Graphing, pinch and zoom, cursors, and statistics enable design engineers to get greater insight into measurement trends and waveform characteristics

The DMM6500’s analogue measurement performance delivers 25PPM basic DCV accuracy for one year and 30PPM for two years, allowing users to extend calibration cycles.

Key benefits include more measurement functions and wider measurement ranges (including 10 microA to 10A and 1milli Ohhm to 100MOhm) with more sensitivity to maximise the utility of the DMM and to enable measurements on new, low power components and products.
