RS Components offers EAO switches to protect people and machinery

Designed for harsh environments, two switch families from EAO deliver enhanced protection and safety in a range of industrial sectors and applications. The switch families are available from RS Components for maintenance engineers and machine and panel builders to deliver intuitive machine safety control in a variety of industrial applications.

The Series 61 compact emergency-stop switches (E-Stop) were designed to protect people and equipment against injury and damage. The Series 61 E-Stop is suited for use in handheld control units. Alternatively, it can be mounted within easy reach or directly on to a machine. Capable of withstanding harsh industrial use, the Series 61 is made from hardy materials and has a robust build quality that meets IP69K, as well as providing IP67 protection. Typical applications include handheld control units, production and plant machinery, construction machinery, and agricultural machinery and vehicles, as well as for control panels in a range of industrial equipment and devices.

For use in space critical applications, the Series 61 also has a robust mono-block design, and a fool-proof trigger action compliant with EN 60947-5-5 and EN 13850, as well as a green indication ring to show switch actuation. Other key features include a highly compact back-panel depth of only 21.2mm, and an optional high-brightness 24V DC LED, which makes the product clearly visible even in low light levels, says RS Components.

The Series 45 switches are designed for easy assembly and installation into 22 or 30.5mm cut-outs and are available in a plastic, shiny metal or matt metal finish. The 30.5mm mounted metal version has a low profile, flush mount design. The series is robust, says RS Components, and offers an IP69K protection rating and long-life LED illumination. Features include a mechanical life of one million switching cycles and reliable switching from 5.0 to 500V. The double-break slow-make switching element is available with either screw- or spring-type terminals and can be equipped with a maximum of six switching elements.
