Universal smart charger is for NiMH/NiCD batteries

Able to auto detect and charge eight to 15 NiMH or NiCD cells in series, the PSCH30 smart charger is available from Powersolve.

The PSCH30 will auto detect and charge the cells at the correct voltage between 9.6 and 18V DC, adds the company. A switch allows users to select the charge current between 0.9 to 1.8A while charging status is indicated by an LED.

The PSCH30 universal charger operates from a universal 90 to 264V AC and incorporates several safety features including automatic cut-off when the cells are fully charged and battery over-temperature protection using a thermal sensor. Over voltage and short circuit protection are also standard.

Housed in a compact, desk-top plastic enclosure which measure 120 x 60 x 38mm, the PSCH30 is supplied as standard with an IEC320 C14 3 pin AC input connector. The output lead is 1.2m and terminates in a four-pin Toby KPPX-4P connector. Powersolve also offers a variety of optional output connectors on request.

The CE marked PSCH30 meets all relevant safety and EMC standards including UL1310, CISPR22 ‘B’, FCC Part 15 ‘B’ and EN55022 ‘B’.
