Two HBA AMC modules exploit NVMe storage

VadaTech has announced the AMC640 and AMC641 host bus adapter (HBA) advanced mezzanine card (AMC) modules with dual/quad M.2 solid state drives (SSDs).

The AMC640 is an M.2 host bus adapter which supports up to four M.2 type 2280 and /or 22110 style storage devices. The NVMe storage provides high speed and low latency read/write to the SSD devices.

The AMC640 has PCIe Gen3 x8 or dual x4 routed to the fabric ports four to 11. Flexible user configuration allows each M.2 to be routed to ports four to seven, eight to 11 or four to 11. The user can route ports four to seven or eight to 11 to any combination of the M.2 modules or to none (e.g. ports four to seven to one M.2 and eight to 11 to three further M.2). When not used, ports four to seven or eight to 11 can be disabled to avoid clashing with other fabrics in the system.

The AMC641 has dual M.2 NVMe capability and PCIe Gen3 dual x4 routed to the fabric ports four to 11. Ports four to seven are routed to M.2 disk one and ports eight to 11 are routed to M.2 disk two).

Both the AMC640 and AMC641 are available from VadaTech in air-cooled (MTCA.0 and MTCA.1) and rugged conduction-cooled versions (MTCA.2 or MTCA.3).

VadaTech provides embedded computing from board-level products, chassis-level platforms, to configurable application-ready systems.
