Farnell stocks latest PIC and AVR and offers book draw
Farnell element14 now has stocks of the latest 8bit microcontrollers from Microchip 8-bit, including PIC and AVR devices. In addition, the distributor is offering customers the chance to win a copy of the book “This is (not) Rocket Science” when they make a purchase.
The book is a guide to Microchip’s most recent 8-bit core-independent peripherals and code tools including the MPLAB X development system.
Core-independent peripherals are features of the latest PIC18 microcontrollers, such as the PIC18(L)F65K40 and 66K40. The peripherals include a complementary waveform generator, windowed watchdog timer, cyclic redundancy check and memory scan unit, a zero-cross detection unit and peripheral pin-select module, as well as a 10-bit A/D converter with built-in compute functions.
The A/D converter supports programmable acquisition times, allowing for a channel to be selected and a conversion to be initiated without waiting for a sampling period, which helps to reduce code overhead. The computation features provide a digital filtering and threshold interrupt functions.
Joining the new PIC18 devices at Farnell are the ATmega3208, 3209, 4808 and 4809 microcontrollers. These devices provide a variety of intelligent hardware peripherals alongside the low-power architecture of the 8-bit AVR processor.
Farnell element 14 is also able to provide the PIC16(L)F15325/45 8-bit family of microcontrollers. These feature a range of analogue, core-independent and communication peripherals, combined with eXtreme Low-Power (XLP) functionality. XLP provides a number of alternate-run and idle modes that can be used by the developer to put the processor core into low-power modes whenever possible.
