SPXOs target networking with low jitter performance
Simple packaged crystal oscillators (SPXOs) in the E-Series from Epson Europe Electronics have low jitter. The SPXOs are available with LVPECL or LVDS outputs.
The SPXOs are designed for high-performance networking applications and cover a frequency range of 25 to 200MHz and feature low jitter to deliver wide-open eye diagrams for high-speed (up to 400Gbits per second) optical and electrical interfaces.
The integration of an LDO and the use of Epson’s High Frequency Fundamental (HFF) crystal technology, enables the E-Series SPXOs to reach industry leading jitter levels of 50fs rms jitter at 156.25MHz at low power with a +2.5 or +3.3V supply voltage, claims Epson.
Tight stability (±25 parts per million (ppm) -40 to +85 degree C, ±50 ppm -40 to +105 degrees C, or ±100 ppm -40 to +105 degrees C) provides margin to networking specifications and a wide temperature range supports outdoor equipment and equipment without fans, adds Epson. Two package sizes are available, an industry standard size of 7.0 x 5.0 mm2, and a small version that measures 3.2 x 2.5 mm2 for space constrained designs.
Led by the Japan-based Seiko Epson Corporation, the Epson Group comprises more than 76,000 employees in 87 companies around the world. Epson Europe Electronics is a marketing, engineering and sales company and the European headquarters for electronic devices of Seiko Epson. It has been headquartered in Munich, Germany since 1989 and has 50 employees, European sales representatives and a Europe-wide network of distributors.
