Mouser ships Analog Devices’ mini industrial IMUs to navigate IoT devices

Distributor, Mouser Electronics now stocks the ADIS1647x precision industrial inertial measurement units (IMUs) from Analog Devices. They are used for navigation and safety in industrial and IoT applications, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), smart agriculture, and autonomous vehicles. The devices are also suitable for the growing market for virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) devices.

The ADIS1647x IMUs deliver six-degree-of-freedom sensing using triple-axis MEMS-based gyroscopes and accelerometers. They also combine low noise, low drift, and what is claimed to be industry leading vibration rejection, allowing devices to accurately characterise motion even when disturbed by wind, vibration, temperature or turbulence.

The IMUs measure 11 x 15 x 11mm. They are supplied tested and factory calibrated for bias, alignment, sensitivity and linear acceleration. This ensures each sensor can provide accurate measurements via dynamic compensation formulae.

Within the ADIS1647x, there is the ADIS16470, which offers a gyroscope dynamic range of ±2000 degrees per second (dps). The ADIS16475 and ADIS16477 variants are available in dynamic ranges of ±125, ±500, or ±2000 dps.

Mouser also offers evaluation tools for the ADIS1647x miniature industrial IMUs, with the EVAL-ADIS2Z evaluation board and ADIS1647x/PCBZ breakout boards. Designers can plug a breakout board into the 16-pin connector on the evaluation board to develop a prototype using the corresponding IMU.
