Open frame power supply is approved for LED lighting
The LU225 open frame AC/DC power supply enables manufacturers of LED lighting equipment to shorten their development cycle, says SL Power, thanks to industry-specific safety approvals. The LU225 meets EN55015 (EN55032) Class B Conducted EMI, IEC61000-3-2 Class C (LED dimming) and EN60950 standards, and is one of the first open frame power supplies in the industry to feature UL8750 approval for LED equipment. An active inrush current limit capability of 15A also minimises the need for multiple circuit protection devices, resulting in lower installation and operating costs.
The LU225 family offers up to 225W output power with fan cooling, up to 180W with conduction cooling and up to 140W with convection cooling. Models are available with output voltage choices of 12, 24, 36, 48 and 56V. The supplies are compact and measure just 2.2 x 4.16 x 1.5 inch (55.9 x 105.66 x 38.1mm), and have a high power density of 16.4W/cubic inch at 50 degrees C.
The LU225 can be used for industrial applications such as equipment for test and measurement, process automation, displays and signage and renewable energy as well as general information technology equipment (ITE) as well as LED lighting.
