DIN-rail power supply’s remote control simplifies output control

Remote-controlled on/off is included in the CP20.241-V1 DIN-rail power supply, from PULS. This features allows system administrators and building automation controllers to switch the power supply on or off by use of an external signal switch or transistor gate. This makes centralised control of multiple system components very simple to implement, says PULS, and provides an efficient shut-down facility in the event of system failure or emergency.

The PULS CP20.241-V1 is part of the Dimension CP series of space-saving DIN rail power supplies for engineers and system integrators.

The compact design has a width of only 48mm and efficiency of 95.6 per cent. They have been optimised for high peak efficiency at full load but also provides excellent efficiencies with partial loads, says PULS. High efficiency levels across the entire load range mean lower energy costs for the users in the usage phase and lower heat generated. The CP20 power supplies can achieve a service lifetime of at least 94,000 hours at +40degrees C ambient temperature, 100 per cent load and 230V AC input.

The supplies also have a power reserve of 20 per cent (up to +45 degrees C continuously and between +45 and +60 degrees C short-term). There is also a small input inrush current, full output power between -25 and +60 degrees C (with derating up to +70 desgrees C) as well as high immunity to transients.

Key specifications of the PULS CP20.241-V1 include input voltage 100 to 240V AC and 110 to 150V DC, active power factor correction (PFC), output 24 to 28V DC at 480W, current sharing feature for parallel operation, safe HiccupPlus overload protection mode, easy breaking fuse at three times the nominal current for 12milli seconds, remote shut-down, DC-OK relay contact and dimensions of 48 x 124 x 127mm.

Typical applications for PULS DIN-Rail power supplies include, industrial and process control, building automation, panel-building, test and measurement, instrumentation and communications systems. Versions are available approved for railway systems and ruggedised for harsh environments.
