60V and 100V mosfets in TO-leadless packaging target high current applications

From Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS) comes the TO-Leadless (TOLL) package in combination with a 60V and 100V shield-gate technology.

AOS’ technology, which uses a clip to achieve the in-rush current, gives the TOLL package the highest current capacity in its voltage class, says the company. The clip technology also helps provide low package resistance and inductance and the packaging technology uses a standard wire-bonding technology that helps improve EMI performance.

The AOTL66608 (60V), AOTL66610 (60V), and AOTL66912 (100V) have a 30 per cent smaller footprint compared to a TO-263 (D2PAK) package and they have a higher current capability which enables the designer to reduce the number of mosfets in parallel.

They suit industrial BLDC motor applications and battery management.

“Using the AOS TOLL package with clip technology offers performance improvement in a robust package.  The AOTL66608, AOTL66610, and AOTL66912 can simplify new designs with the higher current capability to enable savings in overall system cost owing to a reduced number of devices in parallel,” said Peter H. Wilson, marketing director of MOSFET product line at AOS.

The AOTL66608, AOTL66610, and AOTL66912 are immediately available in production quantities with a lead-time of 14-16 weeks.

The unit prices for 1,000 pieces are $4.1, $2.3, and $4.56, respectively.

AOS designs, develops and supplies a range of power semiconductors, for the global market, including a portfolio of power mosfets, IGBT, IPM, TVS, HVIC, GaN/SiC, power IC and digital power products.

Extensive intellectual property and technical knowledge that encompasses the latest advancements in the power semiconductor industry are also part of the company’s offering and help in no small part to harness the increasingly complex power requirements of advanced electronics.

AOS’ portfolio of products targets high-volume applications, including portable computers, flat panel TVs, LED lighting, smart phones, battery packs, consumer and industrial motor controls and power supplies for TVs, computers, servers and telecommunications equipment.
