Digi-Key and UnitedSiC sign global distribution partnership
Distributor, Digi-Key Electronics has signed a global distribution partnership with UnitedSiC, making all of the latter’s silicon carbide (SiC) product portfolio available to Digi-Key customers.
UnitedSiC offers cascade SiC products which are the only standard gate drive SiC devices currently on the market, says the company.
Yalcin Bulut, vice president of global sales and marketing at UnitedSiC, believes that power designers around the world will benefit. “This partnership focuses on expanding the UnitedSiC product line to an even wider group of power designers by leveraging Digi-Key’s world-class distribution expertise,” he said. “We will now be able to provide our SiC wideband gap technology to the markets and customers served so well by Digi-Key.”
UnitedSiC develops SiC FET and diode power semiconductors that deliver high efficiency and performance for electric vehicle (EV) chargers, DC/DC converters and traction drives, as well as telecomms or server power supplies, variable speed motor drives and solar PV inverters. The company’s products enable an easy transition from traditional FETs to higher efficiency, faster switching and lower RDS (on) silicon carbide FETs.
Intended applications are EVs, battery charging, IT infrastructure, renewable energy and circuit protection.
