Infineon adds three MOSFETs in D²PAK for portable devices
Three MOSFETs in D²PAK 7pin+ packages extend the StrongIRFET range by Infineon. They offer low RDS(on) and high current-carrying capability to provide robust operation for high-power density applications, such as battery-powered tools, battery management systems and low-voltage drives.
The D²PAK 7pin+ package have interchangeable pin out options and offer up to 13 per cent lower RDS(on), compared with a standard D²PAK 7pin package, claims Infineon, and up to 50 per cent higher current-carrying capability compared to previous generation devices. The package is optimised to hold a die with an increased area of up to 20 per cent while sharing the same footprint and pin out as a standard D²PAK 7pin. This enables it to replace the traditional D²PAK 7pin and H²PAK packages, confirms Infineon. The MOSFETs offer both normal- and logic-level gate drive.
StrongIRFET MOSFETs are available in the D²PAK 7pin+ package now.
