Micropower Direct adds six AC/DC power modules
Six miniature, 2W AC/DC power modules make up the MPM-02SV series from Micropower Direct. The MPM-02SV family of low cost power supplies are specifically designed to provide the small size, robust performance, long term reliability and safety approvals required for a variety of industrial applications where space is limited.
The six standard models operate from a wide universal input of 85 to 305V AC and provide regulated single outputs of 3.3, 5.0, 9.0, 12, 15, or 24V DC. They may also be used in high voltage DC/DC applications with an input of 120 to 430V DC. Standard features include tight line and load regulation, continuous short circuit and over-voltage protection. There is also an I/O isolation of 4,000 VAC. All models are approved to EN 62368 and meet the requirements of EN 55032 class B.
The MPM-02SV has a reinforced Class II input, allowing it to be used without a connection to an earth ground. This feature is particularly useful for equipment that is used in applications where a reliable ground may not be available. The mean time between failure (MTBF) per MIL HDBK 217F of the MPM-02SV series is greater than 300khours. The series is RoHS-compliant.
The MPM-02SV series is packaged in a compact potted module. Each model is specified for operation over the ambient temperature range of -40 to +70 degrees C.
Suitable applications are space critical board level industrial and commercial equipment and the Class II input makes the MPM-02SV series appropriate for remote or portable equipment where a reliable ground is often not available.
All MicroPower Direct products are designed with “considerable attention” to the proper selection, derating, and layout of all circuit components. Reliability screening is also performed on all modules as a routine part of the production process.
