Pepperl+Fuchs tops off automation with stainless steel enclosure

A stainless steel enclosure has been added to the range available from Pepperl+Fuchs. The SR series of stainless steel enclosures from the automation specialist

The SR series is made of durable stainless steel. There are over 30 enclosure sizes to meet the dimensions of a range of applications in the pharmaceutical, chemical and oil and gas industries. The basic IP66 / NEMA 4X enclosures can be fitted with accessories, such as gland plates, hinges, quarter turn locks and security features for the lid, by Pepperl+Fuchs according to the customer’s specification.

International approvals allow the enclosures to be used worldwide. The enclosures are certified for a temperature range of -60 to +120 degrees C. Depending on the application requirements, they can be mounted vertically or horizontally.

All wall mounting versions can be screwed to the wall directly using mounting brackets that rotate by 90 degrees or rivet nuts, without further adaptation. If the SR series is used as a control station, the contact blocks can be fixed either to a rail or directly to the enclosure cover.

Pepperl+Fuchs has said that it will introduce terminal boxes and control stations, control units, switch disconnectors and safety switches, and fieldbus solutions to expand the SR series.

The SR series joins the complementary GR series of glass fibre reinforced plastic enclosures. These are IP66 / NEMA 4X enclosures made of glass fibre-reinforced, anti static, highly resistant polyester. The UV-stabilised material is highly durable and offers excellent corrosion resistance, says Pepperl+Fuchs.

The GR series uses decoupled mounting steps so that even large and heavy enclosures can be installed by a single person, says the company.

Pepperl+Fuchs provides a service concept focused on maximising vertical integration and providing support for users. In addition to the regional field service, customers have access to product specialists in six Solution Engineering Centers (SECs) around the world to assist them with everything from the preparation of quotations to the engineering, design, and certification of customised control and distribution solutions.
