FAKRA to SMA cable assemblies bring flexibility to automotive design
The assemblies combine the automotive industry-standard FAKRA connector with the popular SMA connector which is designed to accommodate antennae, RFID and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
The 50 Ohm assemblies use the snap-on FAKRA interface on one end and the threaded SMA interface on the other. FAKRA connectors present a rugged, impact- resistant body with mechanically keyed and colour-coded housings that meet all automotive industry USCAR-17 standards. The SMA connector is designed for ease of connection and disconnection. Its compact size means that the assembly can also be used in commercial and industrial applications.
The FAKRA to SMA cable assemblies are available in a number of standard lengths on flexible RG-58 and RG-174 cables, and operate up to 3GHz. These characteristics make them suitable for existing and future automotive applications that involve connecting to external antennae. Typical examples are GPS, drones and 360 degree cameras.
