IHSR inductors are designed for multi-phase supplies
High temperature inductors for multi-phase, high current power supplies and filters are offered by Vishay Intertechnology. The Vishay Dale IHSR-2525CZ-51 series are offered in the 2525 case size with a slim 3.0mm profile.
The commercial IHSR inductor offers a 50 per cent reduction in DCR over typical power inductors. They also offer inductance stability over the entire operating temperature range and soft saturation compared to ferrite devices, says Vishay.
They are based on Vishay’s IHLP technology and are optimised for energy storage in DC/DC converters up to 10MHz and high current filtering applications up to the self-resonant frequency (SRF) of the inductor. The high operating temperature is up to +155 degrees C, making them suitable for filtering and DC/DC conversion in notebooks, desktops and servers; POL converters; graphics cards; distributed power systems; and FPGAs.
The IHSR-2525CZ-51’s low typical DCR of 0.38 mΩ and inductance of 0.056 microH allow for higher current density than competing technologies, claims Vishay. The 3.0mm profile enables slimmer end products. The inductors are packaged in a 100 per cent lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise. The inductor offers high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock and handles high transient current spikes without saturation. The device is RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.
