Mini-coax connectors save space in automotive
Claimed to be the best performing system of mini-coax connectors for the automotive industry, Rosenberger’s HFM (High speed FAKRA Mini) automotive connectors have connector position assurance (CPA).
The coaxial connector system can be applied for frequencies up to 20GHz. The intelligent modular system ensures fast transmission of high data rates up to 28Gbits per second, says the company. The small dimensions are claimed to enable space savings of up to 80 per cent compared to conventional FAKRA connector types.
The additional CPA prevents the mated connectors from accidental unmating and allows the connectors to be used in safety applications – for example in driver assistance or autonomous driving systems. CPA types are also available for other automotive connectors from Rosenberger.
Rosenberger manufactures impedance-controlled and optical interconnect products in high frequency, high voltage and fibre optic technologies.
The product range covers RF coaxial connectors, components and accessories, RF measurement products as well as cable assemblies for mobile communication networks, data centres, industrial test and measurement, automotive electronics as well as for high-voltage contact systems, medical and industrial electronics and aerospace engineering.
The company’s custom machining division manufactures customer-specific precision parts from all machinable materials for various industries such as the automotive and commercial vehicle industry, ship building or classic mechanical and plant engineering.
The company is headquartered in Fridolfing, Germany. It was founded in 1958 and remains family-owned.
