TDK’s compact motor-run capacitors comply with safety class S2 and IEC standards
TDK has released its B33331I6 series, compact EPCOS motor-run capacitors that comply with safety class S2 as well as the IEC 60335-2-24 standard. The robust aluminium cans have extremely compact dimensions, making the series the most compact motor-run capacitors on the market, according to the company.
Depending on the capacitance, the diameters are only 30mm or 35mm, and the heights vary between 73mm and 103mm including the connections. They are designed for a voltage of 450Vac at 50/60Hz, and, with 13 types, cover a capacitance range from 1 microAF to 20 microAF.
The self-healing resin-filled capacitors are equipped with an internal overpressure breakaway protection and are designed for a lifetime of 10,000 hours at 450Vac. Standard connections are 2+2 fast-on connectors (6.3mm x 0.8mm) and they can be modified to customer specifications. Versions with an M8 bolt at the bottom of the housing are also available.
All types have approvals according to UL and VDE and carry the CE mark. Typical applications of these motor-run capacitors are pumps in industrial applications and compressor motors of refrigerators and freezers.
TDK is a world leader in electronic solutions for the smart society, based in Tokyo, Japan. TDK was established in 1935 to commercialise ferrite, a key material in electronic and magnetic products. TDK‘s portfolio features passive components such as ceramic, aluminium electrolytic and film capacitors, as well as magnetics, high-frequency, and piezo and protection devices. The product spectrum includes sensors and sensor systems such as temperature and pressure, magnetic, and MEMS sensors. In addition, TDK provides power supplies and energy devices, magnetic heads and more. These products are marketed under the product brands TDK, EPCOS, InvenSense, Micronas, Tronics and TDK-Lambda.
