Insys icom unveils LTE router for mobile network rollout

Modular routers in the MRX series by Insys icom are joined by the LTE450 router for critical infrastructures. The latest model is introduced in the same month as rollout of the LTE450 network in Germany. Insys icom said the MRX LTE450 industrial router offers the necessary hardware for the network for use in industrial data communication in the energy and water supply sectors as well as in mechanical engineering, guaranteeing a secure radio connection even in times of crisis such as nationwide power failures or floods.

Insys icom said the MRX LTE450 offers optimal mobile radio coverage in the long term, even in rural areas as well as in locations with insufficient radio coverage that are difficult to access. The industrial router variant uses two SIM cards for access not only to the LTE450 network but also to public mobile radio. This means that situational switching is possible at any time if required and guarantees a high level of functional reliability.

Heiko Noll, product manager at Insys icom, commented: “Our customers appreciate the modular MRX routers very much for the redundant connection of critical infrastructures. The flexible combination of different connection types avoids interruptions by means of fallback”. He described the MRX LTE 450 launch, coinciding with the introduction of the LTE450 network, as a suitable extension of the MRX router series.

Models in the MRX series of industrial routers are available with three or five card slots. Connection types are DSL, fibre, LAN, LTE and LTE450, courtesy of the MRX 450. Existing MRX series devices can be upgraded with the new MRcard PL450 expansion card to adapt to current requirements.

Used in combination with the icom Connectivity Suite, the MRX LTE450 forms a reliable, KRITIS-tested router for remote access, remote maintenance and 24/7 scada monitoring. The icom Router Management software completes the offering.

Insys icom has a portfolio of intelligent hardware and software, managed devices and services, machines, plants and other devices can be reached remotely and their operating data transmitted.

Insys icom continuously develops innovations for industrial data communication and networking.
