Wired enclosures are 12mm slimmer than M size cases
OKW has designed the Connect S enclosures to be 12mm slimmer than existing M enclosures. The Connect S enclosures are designed for handheld wired electronics. The slimline S size has been added to the Connect range of handheld plastic enclosures for wired electronics.
The versatile Connect is suitable for data systems engineering, networks, building services technology, safety engineering, IoT/ IIoT sensors, medical devices, measurement and control.
Connect enclosures comprise two sections, one flat and recessed for a membrane keypad, the other curved and tactile. Rounded corners add further ergonomic comfort, said OKW.
The two shells snap together, there is no need for fixings screws which reduces assembly time and gives designers a choice of two fronts of the enclosure. Apertures at both ends can be fitted with either a cable gland or end panel.
The enclosures offer plenty of space for compact displays, LEDs and USB connectors, confirmed OKW. Inside, the flat section has pillars for fitting PCBs and other components.
The Connect S is 42mm wide, 22mm high and available in a choice of three lengths: 60, 90 and 120mm. The Connect M measures 54mm wide, 22mm high and in lengths of 76, 116 or 156mm.
All the housings are moulded from UV-stable ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0) in either off-white (RAL 9002) or black (RAL 9005).
Accessories include rail holding clamps, cable gland kits, end panels, wall holders and PCB mounting screws.
OKW can supply Connect enclosures fully customised. Services include machining, lacquering, printing, laser marking, decor foils, EMC shielding, and installation / assembly of accessories.
