EBV Elektronik signs distribution agreement with Nisshinbo
Extending its analogue and power portfolio, EBV Elektronik has signed a franchise agreement with Nisshinbo Micro Devices. The agreement between the distributor and the supplier of analogue, power and microwave components bolsters EBV’s offering across these product sectors. It is, said the company, a complement to its existing portfolio.
Japan-based Nisshinbo was formed as a result of the merger of Ricoh and New Japan Radio. It manufactures a wide portfolio of electronic devices and RF/microwave radar products and for analogue it has a specific focus on energy management and signal processing as a core technology for many application sectors in industrial, automotive and consumer markets.
The company offers a broad range of devices, including op amps, low-dropout (LDO) regulators, motor drivers and analogue front end (AFE) devices. Other products in the Nisshinbo range include a wide selection of battery management ICs, audio/video ICs, and RF/microwave products such as LNAs, motion detectors.
Hiroyuki Sugiura, general manager of sales and marketing division, electronic devices business headquarters at Nisshinbo Micro Devices, commented on the distribution agreement. “In conjunction with its world-class logistics infrastructure, we believe EBV’s knowhow and expertise in providing application support to customers will be a major driver in creating demand for our products and technologies.”
“The Nisshinbo product portfolio dovetails perfectly with our current offering across a multitude of analogue and power markets,” said Thomas Staudinger, president at EBV Elektronik. “We believe this well-known brand in Japan, delivering some of the highest quality silicon available in the market, will be of great interest to many of our customers.”
EBV Elektronik, an Avnet company, was founded in 1969 and specialises in European semiconductor distribution. EBV maintains 240 technical sales specialists to provide a strong focus on a selected group of long-term manufacturing partners. There are also 120 continuously trained application specialists offering extensive application know-how and design expertise, said the company.
In the EBVchips Program, EBV and its customers, define and develop new semiconductor products. Targeted customers in selected growth markets will be supported by the vertical sales segments. Warehouse operations, complete logistics solutions and value-added services such as programming, taping and reeling and laser marking are fulfilled by Avnet Logistics, EBV’s logistical backbone and Europe’s largest service centre.
