Five automotive-grade semi-shielded inductors are designed for strength
Constructed with bottom-soldered lead wire, five automotive-grade AEC-Q200-compliant semi-shielded power inductors have been launched by Bourns.
According to the company, these additions enhanced mechanical strength and stability for increased product reliability. The SRN2010BTA, SRN2510BTA, SRN3010BTA, SRN3012BTA and SRN3015BTA inductors are available in multiple footprints to make them suitable for differential choke power conversion for automotive systems, DC/DC converters and power supplies in consumer, industrial and telecomms applications, where high reliability is frequently required. Bourns said the latest power inductor models’ semi-shielded design combines the feature benefits of both non-shielded and shielded inductors. The structure provides lower magnetic field radiation compared to non-shielded inductors and is also claimed to be a more cost-effective alternative to fully shielded ferrite-based inductors.
The SRN2010BTA, SRN2510BTA, SRN3010BTA, SRN3012BTA and SRN3015BTA semi-shielded power inductor series are available now and are RoHS-compliant and halogen free.
Bourns manufactures and supplies position and speed sensors, circuit protection solutions, magnetic components, microelectronic modules, panel controls and resistive products. The company is headquartered in Riverside, California, USA and serves a broad range of markets, including automotive, industrial, consumer, communications, medical (low/medium risk) and audio.
