Diodes offers two automotive-compliant voltage regulators

Two 300mA output voltage regulators have been introduced by Diodes to extend its automotive-compliant LDO portfolio. The AP7583AQ and AP7583Q series both have 300mA maximum output current and 320mV dropout voltages are suitable for battery-connected automotive applications.

The regulators support the microelectronics hardware used in body control modules, in-vehicle networking transceivers, electric vehicle (EV) battery management systems, exterior lighting infrastructure and instrumentation clusters, advised Diodes.

The AP7583AQ series features power-good indicator output. This is an important differentiator, said Diodes. It enables ongoing supply monitoring and provides fault reporting capabilities and facilitates power sequencing.

The AP7583AQ and AP7583Q devices have fixed output voltage versions (3.3V and 5.0V), and adjustable output versions. They support a wide input voltage from 3.0V to 42V. The wide input and the low dropout voltage characteristics allow them to support cold-cranking and handle load dump situations.

Another key characteristic, said Diodes, is the low quiescent current for both the AP7583AQ and AP7583Q series. Measured at just three microA at light loads, the regulators are optimised for powering always-on components such as the microcontrollers and CAN transceivers in standby systems.

The AP7583AQ and AP7583Q series are AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified and manufactured in IATF 16949 certified facilities. They both also support PPAP documentation.

Both LDO series are supplied in six-pin W-DFN2020 packages. The AP7583AQ series is additionally offered in eight-pin MSOP and four-pin TO252 packages.

Diodes delivers semiconductor products to customers in the automotive, industrial, computing, consumer electronics and communications markets. It offers a product portfolio of discrete, analogue and mixed-signal products and packaging technology, with a range of application-specific solutions and solutions-focused sales. The company has worldwide operations of 32 sites, including engineering, testing, manufacturing, and customer service.
