Panasonic Industry extends SP-Caps series for long life and low ESR
Claimed to feature the longest lifetime and lowest ESR in the market today, the TX, TZ, JZ and KZ series extend Panasonic Industry’s KX series of SP-Caps.
All the chip-type capacitor series benefit from the longest lifetime and the lowest ESR values currently available on the market, said the company. Damp heat performance is also noteworthy with 85 degrees C, 85 per cent RH, 1000 hours. All components are reliable which means there is no maintenance required during their lifetime, added Panasonic Industry.
The low profile SP-Caps can be designed-in close to heatsinks which is particularly beneficial in applications such as 5G basestations, AI server and industrial equipment.
Among the new additions, the TX series withstands up to 5500 hours at 135 degrees C with a maximum capacitance of 470 microF while offering ESR values as low as 3.0 mOhm. The TZ series is intended for customers that require more capacitance up to 560 microF, and has the same specs and is offered in the same compact height of 2.2mm as the TX series. In addition, for less harsh environments, Panasonic Industry offers the JZ series with 3000 hours at 125 degrees C and the KZ series with 5500 hours at 125 degrees C with capacitance ranging up to 560 microF and a maximum height of just 2.3mm. Rated voltage is between 2.0V up to 6.3V. ESR values are between 3.0 mOhm and 15 mOhm.
The rectangular, chip-shaped, aluminium solid capacitors use a polymer as its electrolyte. “The products all benefit from . . . ultra-low ESR and very large capacitance values, low profiles, very long life span and high characteristic stability,” observered Shahrokh Kananizadeh, senior product manager at Panasonic Industry.
