Recom releases a new package for 5W DC/DC series
There is now another option for developers wanting a 5W, wide input DC/DC power supply, said Recom, as it announced the REC5K is now available in an economical, industry standard, plastic DIP24 package.
The input range for the REC5K-RW is 9.0 to 36V DC and the output is 5V rated at 1A. The DC/DC converter has agency-rated 4kV DC per one second, 2kV AC per one minute isolation. It also features low output ripple and noise for demanding industrial, said Recom.
Operation is from -40 to +110 degrees C ambient, with derating. A remote on/off control is provided with typically 3mA standby current draw, and the part is protected against input under-voltage and output short circuits.
The REC5K-RW holds safety certifications to UL 62368-1, C22.2 No. 62368-1, and IEC/EN 622368-1 and operates to 5000m altitude in a pollution degree 2 (PD2) environment. ‘Class B’ conducted EMI levels can be met with a simple external input filter, advised Recom, and MTBF is over 1.7MHrs at 25°C according to MIL-HDBK-217F (GB).
