Mouser and Analog Devices present webinar on using radar and sensor fusion to elevate robotic solutions

Mouser Electronics has partnered with Analog Devices to offer the engineering community a new webinar called ‘Optimising Robotics with Radar and Sensor Fusion Technologies’. The free webinar will take place on 29th October 2024 at 17:00 CET.

With the increasing use of robotics across various industries, solutions for precise perception and movement have become ever more important—especially if robots are to operate safely alongside humans. Achieving this requires a wide range of perception sensors, enabling control electronics to evaluate a situation accurately and to achieve safe and efficient operation. Radar technology is a key element of robot perception sensing, providing object detection regardless of light levels, precise distance measurement, and accurate mapping of the surrounding environment.

This webinar will provide valuable insight to improve the performance, safety, and efficiency of robotic radar systems, including strategies for seamless sensor fusion. It will also explore the role of Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL) technology in ensuring fast data transmission, including information on how converting GMSL signals to Ethernet can enhance communication and network integration. Enhancing radar and sensor fusion in robotics can maximise the performance, safety, and efficiency of robotic systems, allowing them to effectively cater to the demands of modern industry.

By attending this webinar, participants will discover more about:
● The latest innovations in radar systems (24-77GHz) and GMSL to Ethernet boards for robotics and industrial automation.
● Practical applications and product advancements for enhancing industrial processes.
● Developing comprehensive solutions that leverage featured products, including:
o AD-GMSL2ETH-SL Edge Compute Platform, which supports the integration of up to eight GMSL camera interfaces, enabling highly accurate machine vision and real-time sensor fusion in autonomous robots and vehicle applications.
o ADTF3175 1-MegaPixel Time-of-Flight (ToF) Module, which is a CMOS indirect ToF sensor designed for high-resolution 3D depth sensing and vision systems.
o TMC2210STEPSTICK Evaluation Board, which is a convenient solution that allows for streamlined development of ADI’s TMC2210 stepper motor driver ICs.
o ADF5902 24GHz Radar Transmitter, which is a compact Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC), featuring a programmable grid array (PGA) and dual transmitter channels.
o TMCM-1617-GRIP-REF Reference Design, which is a comprehensive solution featuring open-source hardware reference design and a wide range of I/O options to expedite the development process.
o MAX96717/F/R DPHY Evaluation Kits, which enable engineers to easily evaluate ADI’s MAX96717 high-bandwidth GMSL serialiser.

The webinar will be hosted by Mark Patrick, Director Technical Content EMEA, Mouser Electronics and will feature Anders Frederiksen, Senior Strategic Marketing Manager – Robotics and Emerging Technologies, ADI, and Rajan Sharma Senior Strategic Marketing Manager – Robotics and Emerging Technologies, ADI as guest speakers.
