Bel launches new GaN-based AC-DC power supplies
Bel Fuse has introduced two new 65W open-frame AC-DC power supply series to the Bel Power Solutions portfolio. The MDP65, for medical applications, and HDP65, for industrial and ITE, both use Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology to improve performance and enable more compact designs.
The new series delivers power density and efficiencies in a space-saving form factor at 1×3 inches. The compact footprint offers a 50% saving compared to devices 2×3 inches, allowing for greater capacity per unit in lower-powered applications. The series offers two mechanical mount options, including PCB mount or open frame.
Engineered for the medical market, the new MDP65 series is compliant with the IEC/EN 60601-1 safety standard, it features 2xMOPP isolation and is suitable for Type BF medical applications. Its wide operating temperature range of -20°C to 70°C ensures reliable performance, even when incorporated into compact, tightly sealed diagnostic or portable monitoring units where heat dissipation is a challenge.
