ByteSnap launches fast-track service to help manufacturers beat cellular shutdown deadlines

ByteSnap Design, an embedded software and electronic product development consultancy, has announced the launch of its Cellular Migration Fast-Track service, a new service designed to help device manufacturers complete 4G LTE and 5G transitions.

With 2G and 3G network shutdowns already complete across major markets, manufacturers are under pressure to migrate legacy connected products to avoid disconnection risk. Despite their capabilities, some manufacturers lack the in-house experience for specialised disciplines like RF design, certification knowledge and navigation, and modem integration, or the test lab relationships, to do so efficiently.

ByteSnap Design’s new service compresses what typically takes internal engineering teams 12 to 18 months into a 4–6 month delivery window, covering antenna redesign, firmware updates, and end-to-end certification management.

The company holds NXP Gold Partner status and ISO 9001:2015 certification, and has established direct relationships with test laboratories to help accelerate the entire certification process.

ByteSnap Design’s new Fast-Track Cellular Migration service has a simple three-step process: a Migration Readiness Assessment (completed within 3–5 days); a full Fast-Track Execution covering hardware redesign, antenna optimisation, firmware updates and certification management (over 4-6 months); and a Certified Product Launch, where manufacturers receive their product-ready design, complete documentation.

Manufacturers requiring long-term compliance management support can also make use of ByteSnap Design’s optional ongoing Cyber Resilience Act support services, including SBOM Management, targeted OTA update releases, quarterly obsolescence monitoring, and priority fast-track access.

ByteSnap Design has previously guided an EV charge point manufacturer through two successive cellular standard migrations: first to LTE-CAT-M1 with 2G fallback, then to CAT-1Bis for expanded international coverage, enabling the client to consolidate its market position and expand into new territories.
