Air coil inductor series offers designers wider range of high Q models
Offering lower losses and optimised for high frequency functionality, air coil inductors form Bourns give RF application designers a wider range of high Q solutions, said the company.
The AC4842R air coil inductor series features high Q, high self-resonant frequency and tight inductance tolerance. The inductors offer a high frequency, low loss device, delivering a high Q value of at least 100 with inductance from 22 to 150nH, making them suitable for high frequency TV and radio receivers, radio transmitters and RF amplifier and tuning applications.
The inductors have a wire coil design without a magnetic core, which provides significantly lower inductance values and offers superior functionality at high frequencies, said Bourns. The AC4842R series has been designed with tight tolerance providing DC resistance from 4 to 33milliOhms, with 1.2 to 3.50A maximum rated current. Operating temperature ranges from -25 to +125 degrees C.
The inductors are manufactured with an epoxy cover for added mechanical stability. The surface mount design makes these air coil inductors suitable for pick and place processes.
The Bourns Model AC4842R Series is available now, and is RoHS compliant.
Bourns manufactures and supplies position and speed sensors, circuit protection solutions, magnetic components, microelectronic modules, panel controls and resistive products. The company is headquartered in Riverside, California, USA. It serves a broad range of markets, including automotive, industrial, consumer, communications, medical (low/medium risk) and audio market segments.
