Anritsu’s O-RAN radio unit test system complies with O-RAN and 3GPP
An O-RAN test systems introduced by Anritsu consists of the MX772000PC and O-RAN distributed unit (O-DU) emulator platform software MX773000PC to evaluate O-RAN radio units (O-RUs). The integrated test system creates an efficient test environment to ensure O-RU performance is compliant with O-RAN and 3GPP standards.
The MX772000PC software achieves automated O-RU testing so engineers can create the necessary test sequences using a graphical user interface (GUI). The MX773000PC emulates O-DU operation for conformance testing considering real field scenario of O-RU synchronisation, by evaluating S-plane timing error injection testing on the O-RU based on O-RAN.WG4.CONF specifications.
The software supports the O-RAN front haul specifications and assumes a reduction in clock quality due to synchronisation drift caused by multi-vendor compatibility issues, multi-stage switch connections and transmission equipment. The system also supports easy creation and editing of M-Plane messages for connection to the O-RU to reduce errors when creating M-Plane message sequences. Anritsu adds that the CUSM-Plane can be configured using a single application.
Anritsu has developed these dedicated software packages to support efficient O-RAN front haul tests to ensure compatibility between multi-vendor equipment typically designed into O-RAN networks. The systems also includes an O-RAN radio test solution that serves as an O-DU emulator on a COTS Dell server using an accelerator card and the radio communication test station MT8000A base station emulator that are controlled by a PC.
Anritsu has provided communications test and measurement solutions for 125 years and helps customers to help develop wireless, optical, microwave/RF and digital solutions for R&D, manufacturing, installation, and maintenance applications.
Anritsu also provides precision microwave/RF components, optical devices, and high-speed electrical devices for communication products and systems. The company develops advanced solutions for 5G, M2M, IoT, as well as other emerging and legacy wireline and wireless communication markets.
