Arrow Electronics offers Ablic semiconductor portfolio in EMEA
Analogue semiconductors from Ablic are now available in the EMEA from Arrow Electronics.
The company specialises in low-power components for applications, including automotive and smart appliances and was spun out of Seiko Instruments. The company has developed a range of voltage regulators, temperature and magnetism sensors, timer and power supply ICs and specialist components for automotive use. The company focuses on power management ICs, sensors, timers, and amplifiers technologies.
Matthias Hutter, vice president of product and supplier marketing in EMEA, Arrow Electronics, said, “Miniaturised, power-efficient, analogue semiconductor components are at the heart of many smart technologies, from IoT edge nodes to automotive battery protection devices”.
Arrow Electronics is a distributor with sales of $30 billion in 2018.
Ablic is combined of ‘able’ and IC (integrated circuit). Ablic’s history began from development of CMOS IC for the quartz watch in 1968, which became a semiconductor division under Seiko Instruments (SII). As a semiconductor manufacturer, it has a large number of products that use low-current consumption, low-voltage operation and small packaging technologies, mainly analogue ICs, such as voltage regulators / voltage detectors and lithium-ion battery protection ICs for consumer products, automotive EEPROM, power ICs, and ultrasound imaging ICs for medical devices.
Since it spun out of Seiko Instrument in January 2016, it has achieved design wins globally in quick growing market for automotive devices , medical equipment, and IoT and wearable devices area.
