Broadband conicals are surface mount and flying lead versions

Broadband microwave RF conical inductors have been introduced by Gowanda Electronics. The C070 inductors are available in surface mount (C070SM) and flying lead (C070FL) configurations.

The performance ranges provided by the conicals include inductance from 0.165 to 1.050 microH, direct current resistance (DCR) of 0.08 to 1.50 Ohms and current rating from 150 to 625mA DC. The conical inductors have been outgassing tested per ASTM E595 and meet the TML requirement of 1.0 per cent max. The C070FL coil measures just 0.07 inches or 1.78mm in length. The C070SM version is slightly longer overall due to its surface mount design.

Broadband conicals are used across a range of industries including aerospace, defense, space, medical, transportation and commercial sectors.

For more than 50 years, Gowanda Electronics has designed, manufactured and supplied precision electronic components for RF, microwave and power applications. Its components portfolio includes standard off-the-shelf and custom-designed inductors, chips, chokes, coils, conicals, toroids, transformers and magnetic devices in surface mount and axial-leaded (through-hole) configurations that are used in a wide variety of electronic applications around the world.

The company offers RoHS-compliant products as well as lead-containing components for QPL military/defence and other demanding requirements. Non-magnetic inductors are also available for situations where magnetic components would compromise system performance, as in medical imaging (MRI) equipment.

Gowanda’s products are used primarily by OEMs in industrial automation and control equipment, instrumentation, medical and diagnostic equipment/devices and test and measurement equipment. Such products are used in a broad range of industries including aviation/aerospace, communication, data processing, defence/military, education, health care, process and assembly industries, security, space and telecommunications.

The company has invested in design capabilities, process equipment, testing and cleanroom facilities and quality standards and its Technology Center is machine tool and design centre where prototype forming equipment and ancillary systems deliver quick turnaround proof-of-concept prototypes. There is also transfer moulding expertise and the group fabricates proprietary process equipment to enable cost-effective production of custom and/or new-to-market electronic components. Gowanda’s in-house environmental lab is DLA-approved (for internal product qualifications) and allows the company to streamline the testing/approval process in support of components for military and hi-rel applications. Several Class 100,000 cleanrooms support customers involved in particulate-sensitive applications, as in medical, military or space environments. The rooms are upgradable to Class 10,000 for added versatility. The company is certified to AS9100, ISO9001 and ISO13485 quality management standards.

Gowanda Electronics is an affiliate of Gowanda Components Group along with DYCO Electronics, HiSonic, Butler Winding, Communication Coil, Gowanda REM-tronics, RCD Components, TTE Filters, Microwave Circuits and Instec Filters.
