Common mode choke inductor operates in extreme environments
The XTCMN5 series common mode choke inductors, part of Vanguard Electronics’ Inrcore brand, are now part of the company’s high temperature range.
The common mode choke inductors have been designed to operate in extreme environments and work in frequency ranges from 100 to over 600kHZ, making them suitable parts for GaN-based power supplies as well as traditional switching supplies.
They have a compact, low profile suitable for automatic placement as well as the demands of high shock and vibration. They are available in different electrical values and termination finishes.
“Many of our high end industrial, military, and aerospace markets need high power densities in a smaller package” explained Jason Finley, president of Vanguard Electronics. “Compared to the competition, the Vanguard XTCMN series provides better performance in a smaller package size. More sizes and ratings will be following this first series,” he added.
XTCMN5 series common mode choke inductors operate over an wide temperature range of -55 to 200 degrees C. They have an inductance range of 110 microH to 4.9 mH and are able to handle 0.55 to 4.9A in a self-shielding nanocrystalline toroidal core. The inductor’s overload current is 1.5 times its rated current.
The inductors are designed to serve military, high end industrial, extreme temperatures and aerospace projects as well as in applications where noise suppression is needed.
