Converter meets medium to heavy duty e-mobility needs, says Bel Power
Extending Bel Power’s product range, the company introduced the BCV200-700-8 power conversion unit, extending its e-mobility range.
The BCV200-700-8 combo unit system combines a 15kW bi-directional inverter-charger, a 4kW 12V down converter, and a 1kW 24V down converter. The resulting power conversion unit is reliable and capable of meeting the higher voltage needs of the e-mobility industry, said Bel Fuse.
It is the latest model in the BCV200 series of power converters designed to accommodate newer, higher voltage batteries. As electric vehicles (EV) continue to dominate off-road, marine, and industrial markets, demand increases for higher efficiency, reliable power conversion, added Bel Fuse.
The liquid-cooled BCV200-700-8 power conversion system supports battery packs between 450V DC and 850V DC. The BCV200-700-8 is IP67 and IP6K9K-compliant, has an SAE J1939 serial CAN bus interface. It also meets SAE J1455 environmental standards.
The BCV200-700-8 expands possibilities for e-mobility with “excellent dynamic response” to load/input changes, low total harmonic distortion (AC) and low output voltage noise (DC) increases. These characteristics combine to make the single power converter suitable for deployment in rugged EVs, said Bel.
Bel designs, manufactures and markets a broad array of products that include circuit protection, connectors, cable assemblies, discrete components, magnetics and power supplies. The company serves a global market and operates facilities around the world.
