element14 Community launches Halloween-themed design competition
Prepare for a frightful design experience as element14, an Avnet Community, invites makers and innovators to unleash their spooky creativity in the Halloween-themed “Boo! In A Box” Design Challenge. This year’s challenge taps into the viral trend of Boo Boxes, encouraging participants to use their electronics skills to create a box that delivers the ultimate scare – whether it’s for a friend, family member, or even a nemesis.
The competition kicks off on 1 October and will run until 8 November. Participants are encouraged to submit their most spine-tingling, eerie, and innovative box designs. The winner will be announced on 15 November, receiving their own “box of tricks and treats” as a prize.
Participants are free to design any type of “Boo in a Box.” Some terrifying possibilities include:
• A Jumpscare in a Box that surprises anyone who dares open it
• A Spooky Useless Machine that appears haunted
• Haunted Candy that delivers more than a sweet treat
• A Cackling Coffin that refuses to stay silent
This year’s competition winner will receive the following prizes: the Philips Hue Starter Kit, a Raspberry Pi 5 4GB, an Anker 7-in-1 USB-C Hub with 100W Power Delivery, and a Halloween Decoration Kit with Giant Spider.
With last year’s competition delivering ghoulishly great entries, this year’s challenge is expected
to raise the scare factor even higher. Full competition details, including rules, judging criteria,
and submission guidelines, plus inspiration from last year’s competition will be available starting October 1st by visiting https://community.element14.com/halloween.
