Farnell stocks TE Connectivity’s Intercontec circular connectors
Intercontec connectors from TE Connectivity are suitable for connecting signal, data and/or power in specific applications, reducing downtime and increasing productivity.
The Intercontec connector simplifies modular machine design offers a customised solution for specific applications by presenting a range of variants including power, signal or data – or all options combined – in a single connector. They can be used in drive systems, robotics, automation, packaging, aerospace, food and textile industries.
The connectors have a 1/8 quick locking system and do not need special tools to be installed into control panels. The crown clamp allows the EMC shielding mesh to remain uncut. In this way, potential downtime is minimised as technicians can replace any defective parts without specialised training. TE Intercontec connectors are sealed to IP66 / IP67 when mated and operate over a temperature range from -20 to +130 degrees C and rated for 500 mating cycles.
The Intercontec range of connectors now available from Farnell include the Speedtec 940 Power six-pin connectors. They deliver consistent power to drive motors, spindle drives and servo motors, managing high speeds and start-stop stresses with ease. They handle up to 630V and currents up to 200A in the toughest of environments, says Farnell.
There are also Speedtec 623 signal connectors are for signal transmission in motor control and monitoring the functions of complex machines. The 17-pin connector is rated at 125V (AC/DC) and 7A. Quick release and industry standard M23 threaded versions are available in flange or right angle mounting.
Also available is the Speedtec 723 Hybrid (power and signal) 10-pin M23 connectors with a number of configurations for custom applications. They have a separate shielded data element. Meeting requirements for higher electric strength, the connector may be daisy-chained for non-centrally-controlled servo motors up to 850V DC. The hybrid connector can handle 30A and a wire cross section up to 4mm².
Intercontec for industrial and automation markets was acquired by TE Connectivity in 2016.
