Fujipoly balances cost with conductivity in thermal interface material
Available in sheets or custom shapes to fit specific application demands, Sarcon GR14B is a low oil bleed / low specific gravity gap filler pad material from Fujipoly. It is intended for cost-sensitive, lower power applications that do not require high conductivity. When placed between heat-generating components and near a heatsink, this 0.5mm thick, conformable gap filler pad can transfer heat with a thermal conductivity of 1.4W per m•K while exhibiting a thermal resistance of 0.60 degrees C•in2 per W at 14.5 PSI (pounds per sq inch).
To improve material handling and ease of installation, Sarcon GR-14B is available with a double tacky surface or with a hardened surface on one side, for more complex assemblies. This special treatment can dramatically reduce elongation, tearing and damage during cutting and final assembly, advises Fujipoly. It also allows for a more controlled release during re-work.
Sarcon GR14B is a UL94 V-0 material that is designed for operational environments that range from -40 to +150 degrees C. Customers can order Sarcon GR14B in sheets up to 300 x 200mm or simply specify an exact size or die-cut shape.
